American Red Cross Lifeline gives you the confidence and freedom to live on your own, because there is always someone standing by to help whenever you need it. This Personal Emergency Response Service (PERS) is provided by the American Red Cross in collaboration with Lifeline Systems, Inc., and is available to you or your loved ones 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a-year. How does it work?
To call for help, you simply press the Personal Help Button you wear as a pendant or as a wristband. The Personal Help Button activates a small in-home communicator that automatically dials the Lifeline Response Center.
Within seconds, your call will be answered by one of Lifeline's caring, highly trained operators called Lifeline Monitors. You will never be asked to talk to a machine.
You might be calling to tell us you have a minor problem that only requires a neighbor to stop by--or you may need an ambulance. Whatever you need, Lifeline will respond quickly.

Interested in becoming a lifeline volunteer?
We at the Red Cross are seeking dedicated volunteers to help install the monitor used to provide emergency assistance into the homes of our subscribers. We are also seeking volunteers who can provide light office support for lifeline administrative tasks, such as filing, tracking phone calls, and keeping organized records of subscribers and payments.
Volunteers should have their own car, and they will be reimbursed for mileage. Good customer service skills and the ability to work with people of all ages are a must. The schedule is usually M/W/F from 9am-12:30pm, however this can be changed to fit the volunteer's schedule. Training will be provided through the Red Cross.
